Fiqh is an important branch of Islamic studies. In teaching this curriculum, the student must study 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, starting with the jurisprudence of worship, which includes prayer, zakat, fasting, and pilgrimage, and ending with the jurisprudence of transactions that includes a lot of Branches.
This curriculum is based on scientific sources approved by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and recognized scientific references taught in Islamic Universities.
Linguistically, fiqh is an Arabic word that means understanding; deep understanding. The word faqih means a person of knowledge and understanding.
The Qur’an uses the term to signify deep understanding of matters especially those related to religion. It is mostly used to mean the understanding of the words of someone else and, for religious matters, the words of Allah and His Messenger.
Islamic jurisprudence, also known as Fiqh, plays an important role in the daily lives of Muslims. It provides guidance on how to follow the teachings of Islam in all aspects of life, including worship, business, and personal dealings. One of the main schools of Fiqh is the Hanafi school, which is followed by a significant portion of the Muslim population.
Before knowing the importance of Fiqh, one must know the meaning of Fiqh and what Fiqh is. So, basically, Fiqh refers to the knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence. It is related to understanding and explaining the provisions of Islamic law in the light of the Quran and the Sunnah, in order to guide the entire nation towards the straight path. It takes the teachings contained in the Quran and Hadith in order to use them to determine judgments in situations that are not directly explained to get perfect judgments of any situation.
Fiqh is important for every Muslim, because of its importance and privilege in understanding the Islamic religion, it is clearly stated in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
First of all, nothing is more important for a Muslim than knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:
“If God wills to bestow a special virtue, He will make him a Faqeeh”.
This hadith clearly indicates that the one who is knowledgeable about jurisprudence is the beloved of God Almighty. What does a Muslim want more than that?
In the Holy Quran, God Almighty says:
“Say: Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” People of understanding know guidance”
And this verse indicates that Allah Almighty loves those who are knowledgeable in Fiqh , and are on the straight path.
